- On Varejao's Pace, Cavs Beating Mavs, The Kyrie Irving Wow Factor, And Delonte February 5, 2012Early energy for 48 minutes. That's what it said in blue dry erase marker ink on the Cavaliers white board prior to tip-off with the defending World Champions last night. All of the other offensive sets, game notes, and match-ups were written in black. Coming off a series of games where the Cavaliers waited until the fourth quarter to wake up and play with the energy needed to beat a quality NBA opponent, this would be critical to having even a chance against Dirk and the visiting Dallas Mavericks. Thus the blue ink. A message that Anderson Varejao not only received, but basically smacked each one of his Cavs teammates in the head with by way of two thunderous dunks to open the game. After the second one, which made it 4-0 Cavs, he looked over at his team's bench pumping his Wild Thing arms, and Quicken Loans Arena went crazy. He finished the game with 17 points and 17 rebounds, a Kevin Love-type statline that's becoming routine for Andy over the last few weeks, and aft...

- Cavaliers Hop, Skip and Jump pass the defending champs February 5, 2012Not 2 minutes into the game tonight and Anderson Varejao had already recorded his first dunk, 25 seconds later and he added another dunk all over Dirk’s head this time to start a Cavalier 6-0 run. The Q is going nuts and you begin to think the Cavs may easily walk away with a win over the Mavericks. Dallas would regroup from the 6-0 lead by the Cavs to start the game by shooting their way back to steal the quarter and take a 9 point convincing lead, but this did not deter the Cavs. Cavalier rookie, Kyrie Irving, led with a great performance and finished his 11th career 20 point game with 20pts of course, 2stls, and 4 rebounds. Anderson Varejao also added his normal overall stat stuffing performance with 17pts, 17rebs and 3ast. Kyrie Irving Splitting Maverick Defenders A relatively close game throughout, with the biggest lead being set by Dallas at 15 after a 6-0 run with 9 minutes left in the second quarter, but other than that the game stayed competitive. Each team making runs, onl...
