Vince Carter said all along that he would probably re-sign with the New Jersey Nets.
He did.
Carter had another productive year with the Nets, averaging 25.2 points, 6 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game in the 2006-2007 NBA season. He also made over 45% of his shots and over 80% of his free throws.

They aren’t going to a youth movement with quite the bang that the Portland Trailblazers did in the past couple of drafts, but the Toronto Raptors under GM Colangelo are a young squad with a lot of promise.
A great record going into the playoffs didn’t translate to winning any series, but with some good development of their players, the Toronto Raptors should be in good shape for years to come.
Adding to a group that includes T.J. Ford, Chris Bosh, Andrea Bargnani, and Jorge Garbajosa, Colangelo will bring in dead-eye Miami long distance shooter Jason Kapono.

The Jazz went into draft night with everyone telling them that they needed a shooter and a big man.
The Jazz landed one of the best shooters in the draft in Morris Almond, the 6′ 6″ guard out of Rice. Almond was third in the nation in scoring and has great percentages from the field and the three point line.
The Jazz, through a trade, also drafted Kyrylo Fesenko, a 7 footer out of Ukraine.
Shooter? Check!
Big Man? Check!
Title? Not so fast.

As everyone who has read my blog knows, I’m a huge Utah Jazz fan. I try to stay impartial, but I’m sure I don’t manage to do it often. As a Utah Jazz fan, I feel obligated to at least comment on what I think they should do tonight in the 2007 NBA Draft.
The Utah Jazz doesn’t pick until #25.
Good players have been taken at 25 and below. Just look at the Utah Jazz picks from last year for an example. Or San Antonio’s picks just about every year.
The Utah Jazz have a great need at shooting guard.

Lots of people are looking at the upcoming NBA Draft as the way to make their team better.
Some of that is probably because of the hype of Durant and Oden.
Some of that is probably because last year’s Free Agent market was headlined by Ben Wallace, a good defensive player but one on his way down. In fact, it is arguable on whether he actually helped the Chicago Bulls much or not this year.
