Well, I think this officially makes Dwyane Wade the NBA’s darling.
When else do we hear about a player mulling over whether or not they will have surgery….every day?
All of the reporters who haven’t had much else to do since the Michael Jackson trial/media circus have been called up to follow Wade around to doctors and other doctors (for second opinions).
For some reason, we happen to know that it is taking a little longer for him to get a second opinion than Wade might have thought a few days ago.
Why do we know all this?

Well, this pretty much washes up Shaun Livingston from ever being a factor in Fantasy Basketball again. For those of you who don’t know, Shaun recently had an MRI that told him that he tore his ACL, MCL, PCL, meniscus, and had other various knee problems. They said he could be back within 10 – 12 months.
I’m currently recovering from repairing my ACL and fixing up my meniscus, and my doctor said it will take a year (worst case) to be fully functional on mine. (Obviously I’ll be able to do regular stuff much sooner than that).
I can’t imagine him playing before October 2008 for the 2008-2009 season. And that assumes that he will really be ready to go ever. Knee injuries are terrible to recover from. This one sounds like the worse sports-related knee injury that I have ever heard of.

Chauncey Billups had a great game against the Utah Jazz tonight.
If you’ve read my articles, you know I’m pretty high on Chauncey, as far as a fantasy factor. In fact, this is the first year that I can remember that he has missed more than a couple of games in a season.
If you were holding off to see how well he would come back, you can take him off your bench and start him. He’s definitely back in a strong way.
With the rash of recent injuries and the flood of Fantasy owners checking injury updates daily to see if their player is going to start playing any time soon, what many owners are failing to look at are all the new Fantasy Sleepers that are currently available.
Normally you only look at Fantasy Sleepers prior to the draft, when nobody has actually picked any players. Who is starting for their team? Will they improve on last year’s numbers.
I have found myself recently going into the available players on a regular basis and finding a couple of guys sitting around waiting to be picked up and scoring over 20 points a game, among other notable stats.
Why are these players available?
Because Fantasy owners are busy stuffing their stars onto the bench and checking injury updates rather than figuring out who is taking their place.
Let’s take a look at some of the games that have appeared over the last week, either because of injury or because of some other reason.
