It’s time for another issue of what is bound to be an annual column cautioning Fantasy Ballers not to pick guys too high just because everyone else is doing it.
If you want to see how well I picked last year, check out my column. I did pretty well. Everyone in my list was about where I predicted that they would be. Even Chris Bosh, the best of the five, was not worth better than an early third rounder, despite what many comments said. I quote Bucko, “What players are in your top 2 rounds over Bosh and Ming?” Well, obviously, a whole lot. Poor Bucko.
Luckily for Chris Bosh, he graduated from my list. He is only predicted to be a late second rounder, which is probably just about right. Two other players also found a better position, far from the top of the totem pole. Sadly, two players remain on my list.
Just like last year, I am going to pick the top 5 players that are predicted to go far above their value. Then, if there are many others, I will give you some honorable mentions. (This year the honorable mention list is rather small.)
Here is my list for 2007’s most overrated draft picks…

Fantasy Sports have grown to epic proportions in the past few years, so it is no wonder that articles about them have begun to dot the Internet.
I find it humorous, however, when I read articles by sports writers who don’t even play fantasy sports but who choose to write about them anyway.
Take this article by Randy Hill of Fox Sports.
He obviously doesn’t know what the heck he is talking about.

I have often wondered why nobody cares much about free throw percentage in Fantasy Sports — at least, they don’t often write about it. As far as most Fantasy NBA rotisserie leagues are considered, free throw percentage counts just as much as any other category, yet it is given very little consideration when actually drafting a team.
Perhaps one of the reasons that Fantasy Owners discount it so much is that it is so difficult to determine who will actually help or hurt you in that category. Some players might shoot over 90% but only take one or two free throws per game — which certainly doesn’t hurt, but it doesn’t really help much either. Some players might shoot under 60%, but their low number of attempts doesn’t seem to hurt their Fantasy value at all.
Let us look at some of the players who will definitely help or harm you in this category. I have chosen to order them by the number of attempts that they take, because that will most likely make more of a difference in their overall effect on your score than their actual percentages. Their percentages will be listed as well, though.

Every year I try to give people the rundown on who to pick in order to get the most out of your NBA Fantasy Draft. Like in years past, I base most of my information on the stats from the previous year. After all, stats rarely lie, and the only thing that gets in the way of last years stats being a true prediction of this years stats are injuries and player movement. Players improve or get worse on their own from year to year, but not often by very much.
Check out some of my other articles if you are a newbie to the site and need more information on drafting successfully in Fantasy Basketball. The link on the right side of my page to the 5 Top Blogs is a good place to start.
And with that intro, I bring to the best and the worst guys for Field Goal Percentage in 2007.
Field Goal Percentage is as important a category as any other, but it is often neglected when selecting players. It’s also very hard to judge because someone could shoot 100% by making their only shot and have it count for very little because they just don’t take enough shots to matter compared with a whole team. That 100% is not nearly as good as having Dwight Howard’s 60.3% in scoring 1443 points over a season.
So with that caveat in place, I bring you the top tier players for Field Goal Percentage in the NBA, ordered by their field goal percentage. All of these players scored over 1200 points last year, so their field goal percentages matter.
