Fantasy Sports have grown to epic proportions in the past few years, so it is no wonder that articles about them have begun to dot the Internet.
I find it humorous, however, when I read articles by sports writers who don’t even play fantasy sports but who choose to write about them anyway.
Take this article by Randy Hill of Fox Sports.
He obviously doesn’t know what the heck he is talking about.
Shaq has never been good in Fantasy Basketball. It isn’t that he is suddenly dropping lately because he is getting old. His high number of free throw attempts attempts and high number of misses of those attempts have precluded most good Fantasy Ballers from picking him… and for good reason.
I never attempted to pick him.
In my opinion, 20th is a bit high. Last place among all centers would have been more appropriate.
Yes, he can help an NBA team to win an NBA Championship.
But in Fantasy Sports, any team that has Shaq better hope that he is injured for the whole season.
And to get back to my main subject, if a sports writer has never played Fantasy Basketball and doesn’t know why players are picked, that sports writer should not write about it. Or he should do some research among actual Fantasy Ball players. Any of them could have told him why nobody picks up Shaq.
Though he is right about Shaq’s actual value to a team, fantasy-wise he is totally clueless.
